Hi everyone!! I realized Justin’s been getting all of the posting action, so it’s my turn to write a blog!
Justin mentioned our trip to Marion, IN, which is where Headquarters for WGM is located, but I thought I’d write a little bit about what I took away from the experience there. We went up there to meet Jorge and Marta, who founded and run the Manuelito project, which is where we’ll be serving when we are in Honduras. Although we thought we couldn’t have been more excited about the project, we were wrong, because we are even more thrilled about it now! Jorge and Marta are such sweet, caring, fun, compassionate people and we had a BLAST getting to know them.
They care so much for these children, and for all children, and their joy and passion is so contagious! Jorge preached the sermon at Hanfield UMC on Sunday and it was all about how God has a plan for every child. He places people in their lives to look after them and care for them and direct them so that they may fulfill the purpose to which He has called each of them. God has blessed these children so much by sending Jorge to them. He has taken them off the streets, shown them SO much love, taught them about the grace and hope that Christ offers us, and has given them education and a chance to really take hold of their futures. We are thrilled to have been led to such a wonderful ministry with such caring people.
As Justin mentioned in the last post, there is an urgent need for a couple to provide, support, love and stability in these children’s lives. They mentioned several times that we are an answer to years of prayer, but the other half of that is that they are an answer to our prayers. We have known that God is calling us to serve children and our prayers have been answered in that we have found a place that is a perfect fit. God placed people in each of our lives that have made clear our call to missions and he has led us to WGM to serve with the Manuelito Project. How great is our God and how amazing is it to see him at work!!! I hope you all have a blessed day!!
